Dr. Bubacarr J.B. Touray grew up in a village in The Gambia and became a PhD scientist, immunologist, and laboratory supervisor through sheer determination — and without a map.
He built Seedmap because he knows firsthand what it costs when a student does not get the guidance they deserve early enough. And he knows what becomes possible when they do.

Dr. Bubacarr J.B. Touray grew up in a village in The Gambia, where the path to higher education was neither obvious nor guaranteed. Through determination and an unrelenting belief in the power of education, he went on to earn a PhD in Comparative Biomedical Sciences and Immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, one of the world's leading research universities. Over a career spanning more than a decade, Dr. Touray has worked as a Scientific Officer at the MRC Unit The Gambia at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, published peer-reviewed research in leading journals, and currently serves as a Molecular Laboratory Supervisor at Abbott Cancer Diagnostics in Madison, Wisconsin. He founded Seedmap because he understands, from personal experience, what it means to navigate the world's educational and career systems without a map. His mission is to give every student, especially those from immigrant and first-generation families, the early guidance and clarity he never had. Dr. Touray believes that when a student truly understands their strengths, values, and options, they become unstoppable.
